Fieldays General Manager Barry Quayle said the number of visitors to Fieldays was the highest of the most recent “wet” Fieldays. Fine weather in 2001, 2002 and 2003 saw a higher number of visitors through the gates, with 114,416 recorded for 2004. However the slightly lower (10 per cent) visitor numbers doesn’t seem to have affected their spending mood. Mr Quayle said anecdotal reports from exhibitors to date indicated that sales at least matched last year’s – if not exceeded. |
And with the 2003 Fieldays sales at a record level, with $122 million taken during the event and $225 million reportedly derived from the event, Fieldays is “very happy” with the anticipated results. Results from the official 2004 Fieldays exhibitor survey will be available in early August.
