TV2 Street Party

It was party time today in Gorst Avenue (by the Rose gardens). A crowd of around 2000 people turned out to enjoy entertainment from TV2 stars and the Titans basketball team.

The party was hosted by Stacey Daniels (Showstoppers) and Anthony Samuels (What Now). Other TV2 personailites joined in the fun, signed autographs and mingled with the audience.

The Party

A number of basketball-related activities and competitions were held in the old skating ring, including a friendly game between the Titans and a team from Te Awamutu Intermediate.

The old toilet block was painted by artist Otis Frizzell with the help of Waipa Kidz ArtHouse Group – the theme being “In The Neighbourhood”.

The party officially launched TV2's "In the Neighbourhood" initiative. Footage from the event will be used for TV2 promotions, meaning that Te Awamutu will get some great national exposure.

"TV2 is honoured to be invited into local communities, such as Te Awamutu, to promote and showcase In The Neighbourhood. This is a key TV2 branding strategy which will allow the channel to deliver to New Zealanders an opportunity to engage with TV2 programmes and TV2 stars," comments Elizabeth Fraser, TV2 Marketing Manager.

On Sunday 15th June the Titans played the Saints at the Te Awamutu Events Centre. This game was broadcast live on TV2 and included a variety of entertainment from TV2 stars.
