Waipa Summer Days

Waipa Summer DaysSwimsuits from the 1940's, 50's, 60's and 70's are on display at the Te Awamutu Museum from January 13th - March 1st, in a show called Waipa Summer Days.

The suimsuits range from functional woolen to pure glamour finishing with absolute 1970's retro. Some suits are from the museum collection and others have been loaned by the community.

DisplaysYou can sit back in the gallery and listen to taped stories that recount swimming and living in Te Awamutu from the 1920's on.

Entry is by koha / donation.

Te Awamutu Museum is located on Roche Street, Te Awamutu and is open 10.00am - 4.00pm weekdays and 10.00am - 1.00pm weekends. For more information see our website at www.tamuseum.org.nz
