Flooding EverywhereThe "weather bomb" which hit New Zealand this month made it's impact felt in Te Awamutu. Although we've escaped the worst of it so far, floods are a common sight all around the area. Many Waikato rivers are overflowing or in danger of doing so. The Puniu River put on a rare display as it covered most of the low-lying area around Tokanui Settlement (below). Sadly the forecast isn't good, with unusually heavy rainfalls expected throughout the rest of Winter. |
