Gracelands Music in the ParkStory courtesy of Gracelands Trust Each year to celebrate Te Awamutu Gracelands Trust birthday week a festival of fun and excitement is held on Anzac Green called "Music in the Park". Unfortunately this year it rained. It was of course Gracelands 13 birthday. This, however, did not dampen the enthusiasm or spirits of those attending at the celebration which was expertly switched to the local church hall. The rain did not even stop the sausage sizzle, which was staffed by Caryn form Local Linx based in Teasdale Street. Caryn was supported by a range of Umbrella holders. Elvis traditionally made his appearance and launched the afternoon. Music and entertainment was then provided by clients of Gracelands services and clients had come as far away as Hamilton to take part. Art and craft produced by service users was also on sale and this ranged from paintings to wood work, all of the highest quality. The music played all afternoon and was enjoyed by all those attending. |
