Balloons In Te AwamutuIn conjunction with the Wel Energy Trust "Balloons Over Waikato", Hamilton City Council and the Waipa District Council, 5 hot air balloons and their crews came to Anchor Park for an exhibition today. Unfortunately a slight breeze prevented the balloons from rising much above ground level, but the large crowd was treated to an up-close encounter, with pilots and crews demonstrating the equipment and answering questions. |

CompetitionsOver a hundred children entered the "Guys Paper Plus Balloon Colouring Competition", featuring prizes of model hot air balloons. There was also the popular "Rose & Thorn Balloon Drop", with a balloon ride and $20 dinner vouchers up for grabs. |
