Rose Sunday

The weather was kind to Rose Sunday this year with plenty of sunshine and a slight breeze.

Steady crowds flowed for most of the day between the Craft Fair in Morgan Park and the various activities in the Rose Gardens.

The day kicked off at 10:00am with "Amongst the Roses". Poets and musicians entertained, whilst artists held demonstrations and allowed the public to try their hand at painting.

As the afternoon programme commenced, Brownies welcomed visitors to the Rose Gardens with a complimentary corsage.

The ever-popular Pirongia Clydesdales were on hand to provide wagon rides around the area.

Over lunchtime the Country Rhythm Trio took centre stage in the Rose Gardens while the Rosetown Choristers performed a range of musical and spoken pieces in Old St John's Church.

At 1:45 the annual Garden Awards were presented.
