24 October – Opening Night.

Te Awamutu College Music Department Concert. Te Awamutu Community Youth Choir, Te Awamutu College Hall, Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu. 7.30pm. Door Sales.

Garden Art Festival – Ngaroto Nurseries, 9.00am – 4.30pm

All the fun of a "Garden Fair". Garden Art & Craft for sale, Clydesdale Horse Cart Rides, Bill Ward & garden walks, Sausage Sizzle, Café and Nursery open. Free Entry.

28 October

Temple Cottage. Havelock Street Kihikihi. Olden Day Cottage open for viewing with photographic display. 11.00am – 3.00pm. Entry by donation.

Gallie Miles Community Fun Walk. 10km and 5km walks from 10.00am from Te Awamutu Municipal Band Hall, Albert Park Drive, Te Awamutu. Spot prizes. Contact Te Awamutu Marathon Clinic 07 8715022 or 07 8718249. Entry fee prior to 23 October Adult $8, Child $5. Late entry +$2.

Rose and Thorn Bar & Café. Who’s Playing? – Chatback

Te Awamutu Spinners and Weavers. Alexandras, Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu 9.00am – 1.00pm. Demonstration and display of spinning and weaving with some sales available.

Te Awamutu Museum. Exhibition – Opening Night 7.30pm, "Art in Trust". Guest speaker

1 November – February

Te Awamutu Museum. "Art in Trust" Exhibition of selected traditional and contemporary works. A wonderful opportunity to view some of the collection of art pertinent to the Waikato from Trust Waikato. Free Entry

1 – 11 November

Inaugural Te Awamutu Film Festival, Regent Cinema Three, Alexandra Street Te Awamutu.

A series of 10 films: Sunshine, You Can Count on Me, Contender, Himalaya, State and Main, Elvis the Way it is, Vengo, Princess Mononoke, Song Catcher and The Closet. By yourself or with a friend this film festival is sure to have something to please and entertain you.

2 November

Te Awamutu Little Theatre. Two one Act Plays directed by Coral Taylor and entered in the NZ Theatre Federations National One Act Play Festival. "River View Tape 23" commended in the Northern Regional Final and " Dreamwalk" Overall winner of the Northern Regional Final plus winner of Excellence Award for Plus Play Bureau NZ Ltd. Opening Night 8.00pm. Tickets Te Awamutu Visitor Information Centre. $8.00.

11 November

Rose Sunday. Te Awamutu Rose Gardens, Gorst Avenue Te Awamutu. 10.00am – 7.00ish.

A special day and civic affair celebrating the "Time of the Roses" with its own programme including: The Rosetown Choristers in Old St Johns Church, Art and Poetry in the ‘Roses’, presentation of the Te Awamutu Garden Awards, music, food and a grand finale with the Free Concert in the Park. Rose Show. Te Awamutu Rose Society presents the annual Te Awamutu Rose Show. St Patrick’s School Hall, access from Rewi Street, Te Awamutu. View a touch of what Te Awamutu is famous for at their ultimate best. Viewing times Fri. 1.00pm – 6.00pm & Sat. 9.30am – 3.00pm

Rose and Cultural Festival Grand Finale Concert. Te Awamutu Events Centre, 8.00pm.

Music…..Te Awamutu Highland Band and Te Awamutu Brass Band. A Touch of Class with a Touch of Brass and the wonderful haunting dramatic music of the Pipes and drums. The moving sounds of two of Te Awamutu’s very talented groups.

  • "Afternoon Tea for our Senior Citizens" 2.30pm - Burchell Pavilion, Gorst Avenue

Senior citizens only are invited to share a cuppa compliments of the Te Awamutu Community Public Relations Organisation.

  • "Te Awamutu Free Concert in the Park" 2.30pm – 7.00ish - Rose Gardens

Music, singing, dancing…..What ever mood you are in there will be the music to tempt you. Kelly Tauroa and Cameron Olsen, MooFish and Hombre will entertain you. Bring a blanket, your family and friends. There will be food available or pack a picnic dinner and be set to enjoy an evening of music.
