2001 Telecom Local Directories Te Awamutu Business Awards
All businesses were judged on visual appearance, which covers all aspects of visual appeal i.e. window dressing, merchandising display and staff appearance. The main focus of the judging process was customer service. Judges observed that the majority of businesses demonstrated high levels of service. A number of businesses received very positive comments on their judging forms. The Customer Choice section, sponsored by TrustPower, was well supported by the public with a number of entries received at Post Shop Te Awamutu. Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce President, Simon Brdanovic says that the Chamber of Commerce is appreciative of the support offered by the sponsors, in particular Telecom Local Directories as principal sponsor and TrustPower as the secondary sponsor. Telecom Directories Limited Communications Manager Jo Fuller said the company was pleased to support the Awards again this year. "These Awards play an important role in recognising business excellence in the community. Through the Awards it is possible to celebrate the many successful businesses of Te Awamutu and their contribution to the area," she said.

The Awards Ceremony was held at the Waipa District Council Chambers on Thursday 12th July from 7.00pm. The theme was "Reach for the Stars", recognising the strive for superior customer service. This was the fifth year of the awards and the second year that Telecom Local Directories has been the major sponsor of the event.
