Serious crash team investigating fatality

An Otorohanga woman was killed on Friday afternoon when the car she was driving was hit by a Mack truck. The deceased woman is 41-yearold Paula Louise Smith.

The Waikato Serious Crash Unit and Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries into the incident.

The crash occurred at about 12.30 Friday afternoon on Pokuru Road, about one kilometre south of Pokuru School. Initial indications are the southbound truck crossed the centreline on a moderate right hand bend and crashed into the northbound car driven by the victim.
