Early Christmas for car winners

Winners of the main prize in the Christmas retail promotion in Te Awamutu were Colin and Krasi May, pictured here with son Simeon with their 1999 Mazda MX5. The family live on the Te Awamutu side of Cambridge and the bulk of their entries came from purchasing a new lounge suite from the local Furniture Court.

When interviewed at the December 22 draw, they were looking forward to enjoying the sporty convertible over summer. There were 15 participating stores in the promotion, which gave shoppers a ticket in the draw for every $100 spent.

Organiser Mark McNaughten of Furniture Court says the promotion was a huge success and certainly achieved its aim of ensuring a high proportion of locals did their Christmas shopping in Te Awamutu.
