 CROWD turned out on Alexandra Street for the light up of the community Christmas tree and various theme lights up the main street. 340051AD Christmas spirit is back! On Thursday night the public of Te Awamutu showed Christmas 2005 is going to be the best yet. Te Awamutu Alive’s Christmas committee was thrilled with the response to Cow Pat Bingo and the Light Up Te Awamutu events. Many people made a night of it, bringing their fish ‘n’ chips to Anzac Green to watch a cow have a poo, enjoying the entertainment from Rosetown Choristers, Te Awamutu Brass and Kihikihi School Choir - then heading to town to watch the new lights come on. A good number then headed out onto the Te Awamutu Christmas Light Trail. Dirk and Martje de Boer (F18) won the main Cow Pat Bingo prize of a weekend in Auckland. Splatter prizes went to Matt Sherwin, Mike Parish, Jenny McFarlane, Vance Smith, Cathy Shaw, Katherine Hastie, Richard Thomas and Elphie Franklin.
