GONE

I stare downward as you lay perfectly still
My head slowly tilts from side to side
Slowly searching your dark yet pastey blank expression
Your arms so tightly tucked against your full figure
Your legs unnaturally straightened like a standing soldier
My heart begins to shrink and tighten.
A threatnening heartbeart emerges
Growing louder and crashing roars of broken thunder
Deafening the surrounding wailing crys
I slump to your feet
My eyes welter streaming amazons of tears
Scolding my face and neck
Drenching the cloth on my body causing an uncomfortable heat
I quiver and shudder as I touch your lifelessness
Clasping your stiff cold hands between my palms
Dropping my head in sorrow
Shutting my eyes hoping to see vivid flashes of yesterday
I rise to look at you perfectly still........
You are not here with me or among the heavens and hells
You seem to sleep an eternal dreamless night
I know not where you are at this moment
But in my living broken heart
